NC Gathers Expert Suggestions for Economic Reforms

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) has initiated a consultation process to gather recommendations for economic reforms by reviewing the country’s current economic situation. At a discussion held today, the NC parliamentary party engaged with prominent figures, including former finance ministers, ex-state ministers for finance, past vice-chairpersons of the National Planning Commission, former governors of Nepal Rastra Bank, and representatives of key private sector organizations.

Participants included representatives from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Nepalese Industries, Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal, and other private sector organizations, alongside notable economic experts.

NC Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire stated that the suggestions gathered would be presented at the party’s next parliamentary meeting for approval before being formally submitted to the government for implementation.

Key attendees at the discussion included NC parliamentary party leader in the National Assembly Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Vice President Dhanraj Gurung, General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, Energy Minister Deepak Khadka, and other NC leaders. Industrialists and economic stakeholders were also part of the meeting, emphasizing collaboration between political leadership and the private sector to address the nation’s economic challenges.
