Chandra Prasad Dhakal Elected NEFSCUN Chairperson

Kathmandu: Chandra Prasad Dhakal has been elected as the Chairperson of the Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions Limited (NEFSCUN), an umbrella organization representing savings and credit cooperatives nationwide. In the election held on December 24 during the 32nd Annual General Meeting and convention, Dhakal secured 1,196 votes, emerging as the winner.

His closest contender, Paritosh Poudel, received 1,019 votes. Chandra Prasad Dhakal, with extensive experience in the cooperative field, will lead NEFSCUN. The newly-elected office-bearers include Damodar Adhikari as Senior Vice-Chair, Shanti Adhikari as Women Vice-Chair, Ghanashyam Adhikari as General Secretary, and Deepak Thapa as Treasurer.

The election committee reported the election of women category members in the Board of Directors: Sita Dhakal Poudel, Mandira Mishra, and Kamala Devi Giri. Other elected members from various provinces and categories include Laxmi Sapkota, Shibha Kumari Raut, Khemraj Subedi, Gopal Prasad Gautam, Gyanu Poudel, Bir Bahadur Raut Bhote, Dipti Shahi, Devkumar Shrestha, Sushil Kumar Basnyat, Shalikram Dhakal, Indraraj Jyoti Poudel, Hem Raj Bista, and Durga Tiwari Sanjel.

Out of 2,633 delegates, 2,200 participated in the election, marking the selection of a new leadership for NEFSCUN.
