Chitwan: Two buses carrying a total of 65 passengers went missing in the Trishuli River early this morning following landslides at the Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road section in Chitwan district, officials confirmed.
Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indra Dev Yadav, reported that the vehicles fell into the river at around 3:30 AM. One of the buses, operated by Ganapati Deluxe, was en route to Gaur of Rautahat from Kathmandu and had 41 passengers on board. The other bus, traveling from Birgunj to Kathmandu, was carrying 24 passengers.
Rescue operations are currently underway, with workers on-site clearing the landslides and searching for the missing buses and passengers. Details of the accident are still awaited.
