Kathmandu: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has strongly condemned the reported racist and communal misbehavior directed at the supporters of Janakpur Bolts following their victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) final against Sudurpaschim Royals on Saturday.

Expressing his regret, Thapa called such actions unacceptable under any circumstances and praised the proactive measures taken by the Madheshi Commission in addressing the issue. The Commission had earlier recommended that the Home Administration take legal action against those responsible for the incident.

Taking to social media, Thapa wrote, "The racist and communal behavior towards the supporters of Janakpur Bolts by some individuals and groups is very sad. The Madhesi Commission has recommended the Home Administration to seek legal remedies for this, which is very positive. The government should take immediate action on this. These acts cannot be accepted under any pretext. No if, no but."

Thapa emphasized the need for immediate and effective government intervention to ensure that such incidents do not undermine social harmony and equality. He urged all parties involved to work towards fostering respect and inclusivity in sports and beyond.
