Two Arrested for Offensive Conduct Following NPL Final Match

Kathmandu: Police have arrested two individuals for indecent behavior during the Nepal Premier League (NPL) final match held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on December 21.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 21-year-old Ashok Saud of Adarsha Rural Municipality and 19-year-old Ganesh Saud of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality, both from Doti district. The arrests were confirmed by Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Adhikari from the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
The incident occurred after the final match between Janakpur Bolts and Sudurpaschim Royals, which was organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). A quarrel broke out among spectators, and reports emerged of offensive language, inappropriate behavior, and actions that allegedly disrupted communal harmony.
According to SP Adhikari, the arrests were made following complaints from various agencies, the victims, and media reports regarding the incident. Authorities are continuing their investigation and are actively searching for other individuals involved in the quarrel.
The NPL, a flagship event of Nepali cricket, has faced scrutiny due to the disturbances during the final, underscoring the need for improved security measures at sporting events.
