Washington DC: Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel has arrived in New York to participate in the 58th session of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) being held at the United Nations Headquarters.

Minister Paudel was received by Lok Bahadur Thapa, Nepal's Chief of Mission to the UN, along with other diplomats upon his arrival.

The high-level session, which runs from April 7 to 11, is focused on the theme: "Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages," in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3).

Minister Paudel is scheduled to attend and address the key meetings of the CPD on Monday and Tuesday, where discussions will center around advancing global health equity, improving access to healthcare services, and accelerating progress toward the health-related SDGs.

The event brings together ministers, diplomats, and development experts from around the world to deliberate on population policies and health systems essential for sustainable development.
