Kathmandu: Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has called on Spanish entrepreneurs to invest in Nepal, stating that a favorable environment for foreign investment has been established.
Speaking at a program organized by the Nepali Embassy in Madrid on Wednesday, Dhakal highlighted key sectors such as tourism, energy, agriculture, information technology, and infrastructure as promising areas for investment. The event was attended by members of the Federation of Spanish Chambers of Commerce and Industry, business leaders, diplomats, and representatives of the Nepali diaspora.
Dhakal emphasized Nepal’s immense potential in tourism, which he described as the backbone of the national economy. He noted that attractions like Mount Everest, Lumbini (birthplace of Lord Buddha), and Nepal’s unique cultural and religious heritage offer strong prospects for return on investment—especially when paired with quality infrastructure and services.
He encouraged Spanish businesses to seize the opportunity to become part of Nepal's economic growth, assuring them that the government and private sector are aligned in making Nepal welcoming and secure for foreign investors.
