Kathmandu: Singapore has been declared the safest country in the world in 2024, according to the latest Global Safety Report released by Gallup. This marks the 12th time Singapore has earned this title since 2006.

High Sense of Safety Among Citizens

The survey revealed that 98% of Singaporeans feel safe walking alone at night, one of the highest rates recorded worldwide. The perception of safety was found to be nearly equal among genders, with 98% of men and 97% of women reporting that they feel secure walking alone after dark.

Key Factors Behind Singapore’s Ranking

The report attributes Singapore’s consistent top ranking to its low crime rates, highly effective law enforcement, and strict public discipline. These factors collectively create a strong sense of security and public trust in the country’s safety mechanisms.
