Kathmandu: Dengue infections in Nepal have reached 4,814 cases, according to Dr. Gokarna Prasad Dahal, head of the Insect-borne Diseases Branch at the Epidemiology and Communicable Disease Control Division. Cases have been recorded in almost every district, with the exception of Dolpa, Humla, and Manang.
Fatalities and Seasonal Decline
So far, two people have died from dengue. Dr. Dahal stated that the risk of infection is expected to decline gradually as the monsoon season has ended and winter conditions are setting in, which are less favorable for mosquito breeding.
Provincial Breakdown of Cases
According to official data, infections are distributed as follows:
Koshi Province: 714 cases
Madhes Province: 95 cases
Bagmati Province: 1,064 cases
