Kathmandu Gorkhaz Defeat Lumbini Lions by 22 Runs in NPL T20

Kathmandu: Kathmandu Gorkhaz clinched their second victory in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) T20, defeating Lumbini Lions by 22 runs in the 11th match of the tournament.

Sent in to bat after losing the toss, Kathmandu posted 157 runs for 8 wickets. Despite a quick middle-order collapse, captain Karan KC’s explosive unbeaten 34 off 11 balls lifted the team to a competitive total. Akash Tripathi contributed 32 off 36 balls, while Santosh Yadav added 26 off 16.

For Lumbini, Rohit Poudel, Gulbadin Naib, Sher Malla and Ruben Trumpelmann picked up two wickets each.
In response, Lumbini were bowled out for 135 runs in 19 overs. Sher Malla scored 27 off 18 balls and Dilip Nath added 25 off 33. Kathmandu’s Milind Kumar and Gerhard Erasmus claimed two wickets apiece.

In the eight-team NPL, Sudurpaschim and Biratnagar lead with 6 points each after winning all three matches. Kathmandu sit third with 4 points, winning two and losing two of their four games.

Lumbini and Karnali have won one of their three matches, Chitwan have one win from two games, while Pokhara and Janakpur remain winless after two matches.
