Pakistan Embassy Provides Rs 1 Million Support to Bharatpur Eye Hospital

Chitwan: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu has extended monetary assistance to Bharatpur Eye Hospital, run by the Nepal Netrajyoti Sangh.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, handed over Rs 1 million to support the hospital’s shift toward a paperless technology system during a ceremony held today. The contribution was received by Hospital Management Committee Chair, Jayaram Shrestha.

On the occasion, Ambassador Hashmi highlighted the importance of ensuring affordable and accessible eye-care services, praising the hospital’s outreach efforts in rural communities. He expressed confidence that the assistance would help strengthen the hospital’s technological capacity and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support.

According to Shrestha, the Pakistan Government has a long history of cooperation with the hospital, including funding the construction of its building in 2044 BS and providing medical equipment worth Rs 20 million. Additionally, earlier support of Rs 6.6 million enabled the hospital to purchase a pickup van.

Nepal Netrajyoti Sangh Central Treasurer, Chij Kumar Maskey, also attended the handover ceremony.
