Rasuwa: The Simbu Hydropower Centre, developed by the Sanjen Hydropower Company, has initiated the production of electricity. The hydropower project, operating under the name Upper Sanjen, boasting a capacity of 14.8 MW, officially commenced its energy generation on August 5. The electricity generated by the project has been seamlessly integrated into the national transmission grid.

Sanjen Hydropower Company's Managing Director, Sunil Kumar Dhungel, revealed that the construction of the Upper Sanjen Hydropower Project, initiated in 2013, has now successfully transitioned into the production phase. The generated energy is being transmitted to the central storage via the national transmission line of the Chilime Hydropower project.

The project is expected to yield an annual energy output of 88.5 million units, resulting in a total revenue of NPR 400 million per year. The power plant is situated at an altitude of 2,180 meters above sea level. This milestone achievement signifies a significant step forward in Nepal's pursuit of sustainable energy sources and paves the way for increased power supply to meet the country's growing energy demands.
