Kathmandu: The District Court Kathmandu has mandated the submission of pleading notes within a month in the case involving national cricket team member Sandeep Lamichhane, who is accused of raping a minor.

A single bench, presided over by Judge Keshav Prasad Ghimire, issued the order, directing both the public prosecutor and Lamichhane's defense lawyers to submit their respective pleading notes within the specified timeframe.

Previously, Lamichhane had been remanded to judicial custody, but the Patan High Court later granted him release on a bail of Rs 2 million. Additionally, the Supreme Court had issued an order permitting Lamichhane to continue representing Nepal in tournaments held abroad. The legal proceedings continue as the court awaits the submission of crucial pleading notes.
