Morang Industry Association Gears Up for 10-Day Trade Expo in Biratnagar

Morang: The Morang Industry Association has announced plans to host a 10-day-long Trade Expo in Biratnagar, aiming to bolster economic activities in the country. The expo is slated to commence on December 22, 2023, and will run until January 1, 2024, as revealed during a news conference held in Biratnagar on Monday.

Nabin Rijal, Chairman of the Association, highlighted the expo's significance in promoting agricultural, touristic, and industrial products. The event is expected to feature the participation of goods and producers from neighboring countries such as India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, with a total of 250 stalls available.

In a noteworthy move, agricultural goods and products from small and cottage industries in the Sudurpaschim Province and remote areas will reportedly be provided stalls free of charge. The Trade Expo aims to not only expand national and international markets for inter-provincial goods and services but also foster business relations among national and international investors. Additionally, promotional events during the expo intend to boost tourism by showcasing various destinations.

Organizers anticipate that the Trade Expo will generate business transactions amounting to Rs 150 million, drawing around 400,000 visitors from both Nepal and India. The Morang Industry Association has a history of organizing such expos, with this event marking another significant initiative since 2053 BS.
