Nepal Exits ACC U19 Asia Cup After Suffering 10-Wicket Defeat Against India

Kathmandu: Nepal's campaign in the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2023 has come to an end as the team faced a 10-wicket defeat against India in its final match at the ICC Academy Oval-2 in the United Arab Emirates.

Nepal's journey in the tournament started with a seven-wicket loss to Pakistan in the first match, followed by a 73-run defeat against Afghanistan in the second match. India, on the other hand, secured its second win in the tournament after defeating Afghanistan by seven wickets and experiencing an eight-wicket defeat against Pakistan.

In today's match, Nepal, batting first after losing the toss, managed to score only 52 runs in 22.1 overs, losing all its wickets. No batsman reached double digits, with Hemanta Dhami top-scoring with eight runs. In response, India chased down the target of 53 runs in just 7.1 overs without losing a wicket. Aarsin Kulkarni played a crucial inning, scoring the highest with 43 runs off 30 balls, including five sixes and one four. Adarsh Singh contributed 13 runs.

Raj Limbani of India played a pivotal role in restricting Nepal by taking seven wickets singlehandedly, while Aradhya Shukla claimed two, and Aarsin Kulkarni took one wicket.

With this defeat, Nepal bids farewell to the ACC U19 Asia Cup, while India continues its campaign in the tournament.
