COVID-19 Resurfaces in Chitwan after Ten Months

Chitwan: After a gap of ten months, Chitwan district in Nepal has reported new cases of COVID-19. A 29-year-old youth and a 66-year-old man tested positive for the coronavirus in lab tests conducted on Sunday and Monday, as confirmed by Gopal Paudel, the information officer of Bharatpur Hospital.

The 66-year-old man, seeking treatment for pneumonia, has been admitted to the hospital, and treatment has commenced. The 29-year-old individual is currently under home-based isolation.

Gitanjali Dhakal, the Public Health Officer of the Health Office in Chitwan, stated that this marks the resurgence of COVID-19 in the district after the last reported case in March of the previous year.

In response to the confirmation of the coronavirus infection, the Health Office Chitwan has issued a cautionary notice, advising people to maintain physical distance, wear masks, and regularly wash hands with soap and water to prevent the spread of the virus.
