Finance Minister Mahat Optimistic about Economic Recovery

Bara: Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat expressed optimism about the gradual recovery of the national economy, stating that it is returning to normalcy. Inaugurating the new building of Mahagadhimai Municipality in Bara, Minister Mahat acknowledged the previous challenges faced by the economy and highlighted its current recovery.

During the event, Minister Mahat assured that he would engage in discussions with officials from both Nepal and India to explore the possibility of opening some checkpoints in Bara district along the Nepal-India border. He emphasized the accelerated efforts to attract investment for the Nijgadh Airport and urged everyone not to doubt the construction of the airport.

Minister Mahat also provided updates on the Sunkoshi Marine Diversion Multipurpose Project, stating that it is in the last phase. He expressed confidence that the completion of the project would facilitate irrigation in several districts in the Madhesh region.

The program, presided over by Mahagadhimai Municipality Mayor Upendra Yadav, was attended by various political figures, including Nepali Congress central member Ajay Chaurasia and Madhesh Province's Vice-President Chandra Shekhar Kumar Yadav. During his visit to the district, Minister Mahat also inspected Choti Bhansar, a customs office at Simraungadh, pledging to open the custom point at the earliest, and visited the Sanphulawa checkpoint in Swarna Rural Municipality.
