Tiger and Rhino Found Deceased in Chitwan National Park

Sauraha: Chitwan National Park (CNP) reported the discovery of a deceased tiger and rhinoceros on the premises today. According to Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the information officer at CNP, the carcass of a large feline was recovered from Bhimpur within CNP's territory, while the rhinoceros was found lifeless in Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta East).

Efforts led by a squad from the Nepal Army's security post in Amrite successfully retrieved the tiger's remains. However, the cause of death remains undetermined at this stage.

Similarly, a male rhinoceros was discovered deceased within a community forest situated along the CNP buffer zone in Kawasoti municipality-15 of Nawalparasi. CNP's information officer indicated that preliminary assessments suggest the animal likely succumbed to natural causes. Notably, the hooves and horn of the rhinoceros were found intact and secure, indicating that no poaching activity had taken place.
