Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology forecasts light rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and winds in certain areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, alongside partial to general changes in weather patterns nationwide.

Attributed to the influence of westerly winds, local winds, and a low-pressure system originating in and around Bihar, India, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy across the hilly regions of the country, particularly in Koshi and Lumbini provinces. Light rain is anticipated in select areas, notably Koshi and Bagmati provinces, during the afternoon.

Additionally, there is a possibility of light snowfall in high hilly and mountainous regions. Tonight, the hilly regions, including Koshi Province, are expected to experience partly to generally cloudy conditions, with the likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds in some parts of the country.

Over the next 24 hours, light rain with thunder and lightning is forecasted in the hilly regions, particularly in Koshi and Bagmati provinces. The Department advises vigilance due to the potential impact of light snowfall on various aspects of daily life, including agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transport in the region.
