Patan (Lalitpur): The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the continued influence of westerly winds will result in widespread fog and mist across most parts of the Terai this afternoon, while some provinces may experience partly cloudy conditions.

According to the department, dense fog is currently prevailing in the Terai region. Partial cloud cover has been observed in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, with similar weather expected in Lumbini Province as well as in the high hill and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim.

The forecast also indicates the possibility of light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the high hill and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, frost is likely to persist in some parts of the Terai. Partial cloudiness is expected in the high hill and mountainous regions, including Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the country is forecast to experience mostly clear weather.

The department has warned that frost in the Terai may adversely affect daily life, public health and road transportation. It has urged the general public to adopt necessary precautions and remain updated with daily weather bulletins.
