Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing partial influence from local and westerly winds, along with low-pressure systems around Bihar, India. This weather pattern is causing varied conditions across the country.
According to the department, the weather will be generally cloudy in the Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati provinces, while the rest of the country will largely remain clear. Light rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is expected in one or two places in the Koshi province.
This afternoon, the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will experience partly to generally cloudy conditions, with fair weather in other parts of the country. Light rain with lightning is anticipated in a few places within the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Madhes and Lumbini provinces. Additionally, light snowfall is likely at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. The forecast includes light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in a few places within these provinces, and at one or two locations in Lumbini province, as per the weather forecast bulletin released by the Department at 6:00 am today.
Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in a few places across Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two locations in Lumbini province. Light snowfall is also possible in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
In the Kathmandu Valley, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is anticipated this afternoon. The maximum temperature in Kathmandu is expected to range between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius.
