Sindhupalchowk: The Melamchi municipality of Sindhupalchok has come first in local level financial good governance risk assessment. Melamchi stood first in district by obtaining 89.5 per cent marks in the preliminary results for the financial year 2078/79.

The assessment was carried out by the district coordination committee. The following are the details of the assessment:

-Planning, budget and program management: 92.86%
-Implementation capacity and management: 97.93%
-Accounting and reporting: 100%
-Monitoring and evaluation and audit: 81.25%
-Revenue management: 85.29%
Melamchi was also the first in the financial year 2077-78 by getting 71.5 points.

The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration will now check its quality and get the final results of the municipality.

Chief Administrative Officer Amrit Kumar Dhital said that the goal is to achieve more than 90 percent marks in both evaluations in the coming year. After the evaluation of the municipality, Mayor, Aitaman Tamang, and deputy Mayor, Uma Pradhan, said that they will work to be the first at the local level in the coming years too.

The good governance of Melamchi municipality is a result of the hard work and dedication of its elected representatives, officials, and staff. It is a matter of pride for the people of Sindhupalchok and a testament to the fact that good governance is possible at the local level.
