Tehran: Iran has finalized plans to respond to any potential Israeli attack, according to reports from local media on Sunday. This follows the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) missile strike on Israel last week, which was launched as retaliation for the killing of key allies of Tehran.

Tasnim News Agency, citing an unnamed military source, reported that Iran is ready to counter any action by Israel. "If Israel takes action, there will be no doubt that an Iranian counterattack will be carried out," said the source, noting that Iran has identified multiple Israeli targets.

The missile attack on Israel last Tuesday, which involved the firing of some 200 missiles, was a direct response to Israeli airstrikes that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and IRGC General Abbas Nilforoushan in Beirut. Iran's military also responded to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who died in Tehran on July 31 in an incident widely blamed on Israel.

On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that any Israeli action would provoke a "proportional and similar reaction" from Iran. Meanwhile, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad visited a key oil facility in the Gulf amidst growing concerns over potential Israeli strikes on Iran's oil infrastructure.

US President Joe Biden had advised Israel last week against targeting Iran's oil sites, a significant source of global oil production.
