Death Toll Reaches 217 in Landslides and Flooding; 28 Still Missing

Kathmandu: The death toll from the recent landslides and flooding triggered by continuous heavy rainfall across Nepal has risen to 217, with 28 people still missing, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Ministry spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari confirmed that 143 people have been injured in the natural disasters. Search, rescue, and relief efforts are ongoing, with all security agencies fully mobilized. The injured are receiving treatment at various healthcare facilities, and affected families have been provided with immediate relief supplies.

Priority is being given to search and rescue operations, as well as distributing relief materials. Efforts to reopen blocked roadways due to the flooding and landslides are also underway, Tiwari added.
