Kathmandu: The death toll from the recent floods and landslides across Nepal has risen to 233, with 22 people still missing. At least 169 individuals have sustained injuries due to the disasters, according to Rishiram Tiwari, spokesperson for the Home Ministry. Rescue teams have successfully evacuated 17,120 people from flood and landslide-affected areas.

The government has prioritized rescue and relief operations, focusing on repairing damaged highways and restoring transportation routes to facilitate aid. However, the disaster has severely disrupted daily life, particularly as it coincides with the start of the festive season, making the situation even more challenging for local residents.

Both local and central governments are working tirelessly to normalize the situation, but with more rain predicted in the coming days, there is heightened concern. The forecasted rains could trigger additional landslides and floods, further complicating recovery efforts. Authorities are urging communities to remain vigilant and prepared for potential emergencies.
