SEBON Chair Pledges Transparent and Fair Capital Market

Kathmandu: The newly appointed Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), Santosh Narayan Shrestha, has committed to fostering a fair and transparent capital market.

Speaking at an event organized by the Economic Media Society Nepal on Wednesday, Shrestha emphasized his dedication to working with all stakeholders to strengthen investor confidence and expand the capital market.

“Our current capital market requires expansion, and stakeholders’ active involvement is crucial. SEBON is ready to cooperate to make this happen,” Shrestha stated.

Supporting this view, Sagar Dhakal, the newly elected Chairman of the Stock Broker Association of Nepal, stressed the importance of collaboration and coordination in developing the capital market. He noted that a well-functioning market could drive economic growth and create employment opportunities.

Similarly, Ramendra Rayamajhi, Chairman of the Merchant Bankers' Association of Nepal, highlighted that Nepal’s capital market is steadily progressing and expressed hope that SEBON’s new leadership would bring significant advancements.

Ram Raja Shrestha, Chairman of the Economic Media Society Nepal, pointed out the value of collaboration between media and stakeholders in boosting economic activities and promoting growth in the sector.

The event brought together key figures in Nepal's financial market to discuss strategies for enhancing market transparency and growth.
