Nepal Suffers Third Consecutive Defeat in Women’s T20 Tri-Series

Kathmandu: Nepal faced its third consecutive loss in the ongoing Women’s T20 Tri-Series, falling short by 15 runs against the Netherlands in today's match.

In the game held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, Nepal was bowled out for 125 runs in 20 overs while chasing a target of 141 runs set by the Netherlands.

For Nepal, captain Indu Barma was the top scorer, making 30 runs off 32 balls, including a six. Samjhana Khadka contributed 23 runs off 24 balls with four boundaries, while Puja Mahato (18), Kabita Joshi (14), and Sita Rana Magar (10 not out) also added to the total.

Earlier, the Netherlands, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, scored 140 runs in 20 overs, losing nine wickets. Captain Babette de Leede led the charge with 41 runs off 38 balls, hitting four boundaries and a six. Heather Siegers (26), Robine Rijke (21), and Phebe Molkenboer (21) also made crucial contributions.

In Nepal’s bowling attack, Sita Rana Magar impressed with five wickets, while Manisha Upadhyay took two wickets, and Kabita Joshi and Indu Barma claimed one each.

The Tri-Series features Nepal, the Netherlands, and Thailand. Nepal had previously lost its first match against the Netherlands and the second match against Thailand. Nepal will play its next match against Thailand on February 4.
