T-20 Triangular Series: Nepal Suffers Fourth Consecutive Defeat

Kathmandu: Nepal faced its fourth consecutive defeat in the ongoing Women's T-20 Triangular Series, effectively knocking them out of the title race.

In today's match at the Tribhuvan University (TU) Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal lost to Thailand by 5 runs. Chasing a 107-run target, Nepal managed to score 101 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Rubina Chhetri was Nepal's top scorer with 36 runs in 30 balls, while Kabita Joshi contributed 24 runs and Roma Thapa added 19. On the bowling side for Thailand, Thipcha Putthavong claimed 4 wickets, while Fatinna Maya took 2 wickets.

Earlier, Thailand, who won the toss and opted to bat first, posted 106 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Chanida Suthiruang was the top scorer with 27 runs, followed by Thipathcha Puthavong with an unbeaten 25, and Nanpat Koncharonkai with 19 runs.

For Nepal, Manisha Upadhyaya took 3 wickets, while Pooja Mahato and Rachana Chaudhary secured one wicket each.

Before this match, Nepal had already lost three games—two against the Netherlands and one against Thailand, sealing their elimination from the tournament.
