PM Oli, Indian PM Modi Hold Warm and Cordial Meeting in Bangkok

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has described his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as warm, heartfelt, and highly productive. The two leaders met on the sidelines of the Sixth BIMSTEC Summit on Thursday afternoon at Hotel Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok, Thailand.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) following the meeting, Prime Minister Oli shared, "Our discussions were highly meaningful and constructive. I express my appreciation over this cordial exchange."
During their conversation, the two leaders delved into various dimensions of Nepal-India bilateral relations, with a focus on enhancing cooperation and addressing shared regional priorities.
"This dialogue will be vital for making new partnerships to advance bilateral ties and regional cooperation, as well as the agendas raised by the BIMSTEC Summit," Oli stated.
The meeting comes at a time when regional integration and connectivity are key themes under the BIMSTEC framework, and both countries are seeking to strengthen their engagement through strategic collaboration in areas such as trade, energy, infrastructure, and security.
Observers have termed the exchange between the two Prime Ministers as a positive step forward in reaffirming the traditionally close ties between Nepal and India.
