Kathmandu: Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that Nepal's economic indicators are gradually improving due to recent policy, legal, and structural reforms.
Speaking at an event at the Ministry on Sunday, where the National Planning Commission (NPC) submitted its policy and programmatic report for the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, Minister Paudel stated, “The economy is on a path of recovery, and the next budget will aim at strengthening economic foundations.”
NPC Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Shivaraj Adhikari handed over the report as mandated by the Economic Procedure and Fiscal Responsibility Act. The document was prepared after holding discussions with ministries, commissions, and other government bodies regarding priorities for the upcoming budget.
Dr. Adhikari emphasized the need for prioritizing and reprioritizing development projects based on budget constraints, ensuring realistic planning within the financial limits. The report is expected to guide the formulation of the new fiscal policy.
