Kathmandu: The negotiations between the agitating Nepal Teachers Federation and the government remained inconclusive late Monday night. Following the unsuccessful talks, the Federation announced that it would continue its protest on Tuesday as well.

Federation President Laxmikishore Subedi confirmed that despite prolonged discussions at the Ministry, no agreement was reached. "Our agitation will continue. Please gather at Maitighar Mandala at exactly 11 AM today. Without struggle, nothing can be achieved," he urged teachers this morning.

Today marks the 28th consecutive day of the protest. Teachers have been staging daily demonstrations, typically from 11 AM to 2 PM. They have been demanding the implementation of the Education Act and previous agreements made with the government.

On Monday, leaders from the Nepal Communist Party (NCP-S) visited Maitighar Mandala to express their solidarity with the teachers’ movement. The protests have seen teachers assembling at Maitighar Mandala and marching towards Naya Baneshwor to hold formal programs.

The demonstrations have sometimes escalated into clashes. On the 26th day of protest, 31 individuals were injured when teachers attempted to breach a restricted area and were met with police resistance.

Despite the ongoing agitation, a resolution between the Federation and the government remains elusive.
