Kathmandu: The Indian Army has said that 40 Pakistani soldiers and 100 terrorists have been killed in India's Operation Sindoor. The army also said that five soldiers were killed on the Indian side.

The three Senior Indian Defense force General held a press conference for 1 hour and 10 minutes at 6:30 pm on Sunday, 25 hours after the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

DGMO Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Vice Admiral AN Pramod and Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti gave information about 'Operation Sindoor'.

A ceasefire was declared between India and Pakistan at 5 pm on May 10. When asked about the downing of the Rafale in Pakistan, the army said, 'We are still in a state of war. We will not say anything about it, because we do not want to give them any advantage.'

Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai said, 'Only terrorist hideouts were targeted. You all know how brutally 26 people, including a Nepali, were killed in the Pahalgam attack. After this, the Indian Army targeted terrorist camps located in Pakistan and PoK. The enemies suffered heavy losses in this.’

Ghai further said, ‘In the operation carried out under Operation Sindoor on May 7, we killed 100 terrorists at 9 locations across the border. This also included 3 big terrorist faces involved in the Kandahar hijack and Pulwama attack.’

Ghai further elaborated, ‘After the operation on May 7, Pakistan tried to attack military bases located in our border states using drones and missiles. We fired at them in the air. Not a single target was allowed to succeed.’

The Army further said, ‘After this, we responded strongly to Pakistan, in which 35 to 40 soldiers and officers of the Pakistan Army were killed. Five of our soldiers were martyred in the firing by the Pakistani army on the border and the Line of Control.’

Regarding the success, Ghai said, ‘After the terrorist camp in Muridke, several infrastructures were selected at the Bahawalpur training camp where maximum damage could be done by terrorism. We targeted and destroyed these two terrorist camps.’

Ghai said that several infrastructures were selected at the Bahawalpur training camp where maximum damage. He said, ‘We targeted and destroyed these two terrorist camps. We targeted the terrorists and the terrorist infrastructure. The Pakistani army and any other infrastructure were not targeted.’

The army said in a press conference, ‘On the evening of May 7, Pakistan attacked using UAVs and drones. These were like waves. 3 of them managed to land, but there was no major damage. We targeted their terrorists. They targeted military infrastructure and civilians.’

After a 70-minute press conference, Air Marshal Bharti gave a 20-minute answer to questions.

Air Marshal Bharti: At this time, I do not want to comment on it because we are still in a state of war. If I say anything about it, it will have the opposite effect. We do not want to give any advantage to them (Pakistan) at this time. All I can say is that we achieved our objective and all our pilots returned safely.

Question: There has been a ceasefire with Pakistan before. If this time the ceasefire is violated or some action is taken by them, what will be the action taken by India?
Air Marshal Bharti: Yes, you are right that there is already an agreement between the two countries. This time too, the same happened, but unfortunately on May 10 at around 7 pm, Pakistan violated the ceasefire. We have also informed them about this. Let us see what happens next. Talking about our response, you can know that the Indian Army is capable of giving a befitting reply.

Question: How many Pakistani soldiers were killed during the operation? What was the role of Brahmos and S-400 missiles in this operation?
Air Marshal Bharti: As per the information received so far, 35 to 40 Pakistani soldiers were killed. However, our target was not their army, it was a terrorist hideout. It is not possible to give information about what weapons India used at the moment. However, our job is to hit the target, not to count the bodies.

Question: Was Rafale used in Operation Sindoor? Did it crash or was it shot down during an operation in Pakistan?
Air Marshal Bharti: At this time, I do not want to comment on it because we are still in a state of war. If I say anything about it, it will have the opposite effect. We do not want to give any advantage to them (Pakistan) at this time. All I can say is that we achieved our objective and all our pilots returned safely.

Question: How many Pakistani aircraft did we shoot down?
Air Marshal Bharti: As I said, their aircraft were prevented from entering our territory. So we do not have the wreckage, but definitely, we have shot down some Pakistani aircraft. We do not want to speculate about the numbers here, I have the numbers and we are working on the technical details to set them up. So, I do not want to give any figures at this time.

Question: 21 terrorist hideouts were targeted in Pakistan, out of which 9 were destroyed. You say that Operation Sindoor is ongoing, will the remaining hideouts be further destroyed?
Lt Gen Ghai: I cannot say much about future operations, but it is certain that the CDS has given freedom to all our commanders to respond to any border violation.
