Monsoon Winds Continue to Affect Country, Heavy Rainfall Likely in Several Provinces

Kathmandu: The monsoon system continues to influence Nepal, with the weather expected to remain partly to generally cloudy across the country this afternoon, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

The latest weather bulletin issued by the division states that light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in several hilly areas, as well as in some other regions. Heavy rainfall is also possible in one or two places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. In the high hilly and mountainous regions, light rainfall and snowfall are expected.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is forecasted in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with some places in other provinces.

Additionally, heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at one or two locations in the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light rain and snowfall are also likely in high-hilly and mountainous areas during the night.

The Meteorological Division has urged citizens to remain alert and adopt necessary precautions to minimize risks associated with monsoon-related weather events, such as floods, landslides, and transport disruptions.
