Kathmandu: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported that the monsoon’s low-pressure line is currently positioned north of its average location, hovering over Nepal’s Terai region. While the monsoon is active across the country, the influence of moisture-laden winds is slightly weaker than usual.

This afternoon, skies are expected to remain generally cloudy nationwide. Moderate rainfall is likely in the hilly and Terai areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with similar conditions anticipated in parts of the remaining hilly regions and a few places in Madhes Province and other Terai areas.

Heavy rainfall is forecast in one or two locations within the hilly areas of Koshi, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the Terai belt of Lumbini Province.

Tonight, the country will remain mostly cloudy. Moderate rain may occur in some parts of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with Madhes Province, and in a few locations across the hilly and Terai zones of other provinces. One or two spots in the hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces may witness heavy showers.

The division has urged the public to remain cautious, warning of possible rainfall in all provinces.

In Kathmandu Valley, steady rain since the morning has brought cooler temperatures but also deteriorated weather conditions.
