Kathmandu: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted rainfall across the country today as the monsoon low-pressure line remains close to its normal position.

According to the division, skies will remain generally cloudy this afternoon, with moderate rain likely in some hilly and Terai areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. Additionally, heavy rain is expected at one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the Terai and hilly parts of Lumbini province.

Tonight, the weather will remain mostly cloudy in hilly areas and partly cloudy elsewhere. Moderate rainfall is likely at several locations in the hills, while one or two places in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience heavy downpours.

The division has urged residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions, warning that continuous rainfall could trigger landslides, debris flow, rising water levels in rivers and streams, and disruptions in transportation services.
