Heavy Rainfall Likely in Western Nepal as Monsoon Strengthens

Kathmandu: The monsoon low-pressure line is currently positioned around the Sardar region, and the flow of moisture-laden air from the Arabian Sea has intensified. This is expected to increase rainfall activity across the country, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

Afternoon Forecast: Widespread Cloud Cover

The weather will remain generally cloudy this afternoon nationwide. Moderate rainfall is likely at several places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few locations in the hilly and Terai regions of other provinces. One or two places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim may experience heavy downpours.

Night Forecast: Persistent Rainfall in Hilly Regions

Cloudy conditions will continue into the night, with moderate rainfall expected in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and light showers in other regions. The department has also warned of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in Gandaki and Sudurpaschim hills.
