Cyclone ‘Montha’ Affects Nepal’s Weather; Heavy Rain and Snowfall Forecast in Several Provinces

Kathmandu: The Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported that Nepal’s weather has been affected by Cyclone Montha, which developed in the Bay of Bengal and is currently centered around Madhya Pradesh, India.
According to the Division, the weather will gradually improve after this evening. Along with the cyclone, the partial influence of westerly winds and a low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea has also impacted weather conditions across the country.
Today, skies will remain fully cloudy in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, while other provinces will experience generally cloudy weather. Moderate rainfall is expected in many parts of these five provinces, with light rain likely in some hilly and mountainous areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
The Division has warned of heavy rainfall in parts of Koshi, Madhes, and Bagmati Provinces, and in isolated areas of Lumbini Province.
Snowfall is forecast in the high hilly and mountainous regions, with moderate to heavy snowfall expected particularly in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces.
