Kathmandu: Minister for Science and Technology Mahabir Pun has advised the ‘Gen-G’ youth to take part in the electoral process and form a government of their own if they wish to see all their demands fulfilled, instead of remaining in Kathmandu and submitting memorandums.
While receiving a memorandum submitted by Gen-G 2.0 at the ministry in Singha Durbar on Monday, Minister Pun remarked that several of the demands put forward were not feasible. He encouraged the youth to engage directly in politics, contest upcoming elections, and secure victory if they want to implement comprehensive reforms.
Minister Pun stated, “If you want all these demands met, you must contest the election, form a government, and do the work yourselves. There is no alternative. We cannot fulfill everything just because cameras are turned toward us. Rather than coming to Kathmandu and submitting demands to the minister, go to your villages and take leadership.”
He further added, “Let the Gen-G brothers and sisters leave Kathmandu, return to their communities, and bring forward young leaders. Some demands can be addressed, but not all of them.”
Meanwhile, Gen-G 2.0 has issued a one-week ultimatum to resolve issues related to technical education. They have urged the government to make immediate arrangements for the approximately 10,000 students who seek to pursue staff nursing after completing this year’s CTEVT selection process.
