Gagan Thapa Recommended from Five Districts for HoR Direct Election

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has been recommended from five districts for the direct election to the House of Representatives (HoR).
According to party sources, Thapa has been recommended from Tehrathum, Kathmandu, Sarlahi, Dhankuta and Rolpa. Among these, he has been put forward as a single candidate from Tehrathum and Kathmandu, while other leaders’ names have also been included in the recommendation lists from the remaining districts.
Tehrathum has only one constituency, and Thapa is the sole recommended candidate for the direct election from the district.
Meanwhile, for the proportional representation system, the Nepali Congress has recommended the names of Krishnaman Tumbahangphe, Dilliram Nepal, Vijay Sambahangphe, Rudra Kandangwa, Basanti Subba Gurung, Sharada Koirala and Shanisha Bhetwal.
The final decision on candidacies will be made by the party’s central leadership in line with election procedures and internal discussions.
