Nominations for National Assembly Elections Being Filed Nationwide

Kathmandu: The process of filing nominations for the election of National Assembly members is taking place across the country today. The Election Commission is scheduled to hold the National Assembly elections on Magh 11 to fill 18 seats that will fall vacant.

The Commission has informed that nomination papers will be registered from 10 am to 3 pm today. Earlier, the voter list was published on Poush 19, and the final voter list was made public on Tuesday after addressing any claims and objections.

According to the election schedule, complaints against candidates can be filed on Poush 24. Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations may do so on Poush 27, and the final list of candidates will be published the same afternoon. Election symbols will be allocated to candidates on Poush 28.

Voting for the National Assembly elections will take place from 9 am to 3 pm on Magh 11. The 18 member positions are becoming vacant from Falgun 20.

The Election Commission has also published the list of voters and their respective vote weightings based on the National Census, 2078. Members of provincial assemblies as well as chiefs, deputy chiefs, chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of local levels are eligible voters in the National Assembly member elections.
