Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the party will complete its candidate selection process throughout the day today.

President Thapa shared the information through a video message posted on social media on Monday, stating that the selection process has reached its final stage.

Commitment to Fair and Inclusive Process
In his message, President Thapa emphasized that the candidate selection would be fair, inclusive and balanced, despite time constraints and procedural limitations.

He said efforts are being made to reach just decisions, acknowledging that discussions and disagreements within the party during the selection process are natural.

Call for Unity Ahead of Elections
President Thapa urged all party leaders and cadres to unite behind the officially nominated candidates and actively participate in the election campaign.

“This is not a personal competition but a collective struggle of the Nepali Congress,” he said, stressing that party decisions must be respected to strengthen the organization.

Appeal for Discipline and Responsibility
He also called on party members to exercise restraint and responsibility so that dissatisfaction arising during the selection process does not negatively impact the election campaign.

“Even if there are issues that some may not be satisfied with, everyone must stand together in support of the official candidate carrying the party’s tree symbol,” Thapa said.

Focus on Democratic Values
President Thapa expressed confidence that the Nepali Congress can emerge stronger by upholding democratic values, unity and dedication. He appealed to party members to put aside differences and work collectively for the success of the party in the upcoming elections.
