House of Representatives Set to Pass Appropriation Bill 

Budget Discussions and Ministerial Responses on Agenda

Kathmandu: The House of Representatives under the Federal Parliament is scheduled to meet today at 11:00 am, with the formal passage of the Appropriation Bill, 2083, expected to be the main agenda.

According to Parliament Secretariat General Secretary Padma Prasad Pandey, today's meeting will focus on budget discussions, responses from ministers to issues raised by lawmakers, and the final approval of the government's annual expenditure bill.

Ministers to Answer Lawmakers' Queries
During the initial phase of the meeting, ministers from several key ministries will respond to questions and concerns raised by members of parliament during budget deliberations.

Ministers representing the Ministry of Education and Sports, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defence, and the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers are scheduled to provide clarifications.

In addition, questions related to the National Planning Commission Secretariat, the Office of the Vice President, and the Office of the President will also be addressed during the session.

Expenditure Cut Proposals to Be Decided
Following the ministerial responses, the Speaker will present expenditure reduction proposals submitted by 20 lawmakers for parliamentary decision.

The proposals seek reductions in budget allocations for various ministries and have been registered by MPs including Kriparam Rana, Parvati V.K., Jog Kumar Barbaria Yadav, Santosh Subba, Neeta Ghatani, Parashuram Tamang, Arjun Kumar Karki, Narendra Kumar Kerung, Ramesh Kumar Malla, Sajida Khatun Siddiqui, Yuvraj Dulal, Ashuda Kumari Baral, Guru Prasad Baral, Mohammad Istiyak Rai, Balawati Sharma, Bishnumaya V.K., Yagya Bahadur Bogti, Ain Bahadur Mahar, Pushpa Raj Kandel, and Padma Kumari Aryal.

Final Vote on Appropriation Bill
After decisions are taken on the expenditure reduction proposals, various clauses of the Appropriation Bill, 2083, will be presented for approval under parliamentary procedures.

As the final agenda item, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle will formally table a proposal seeking passage of the Appropriation Bill, 2083.

If approved by consensus or majority vote, the bill will be passed by the House of Representatives, paving the way for implementation of the government's budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
