Vice-President Yadav Emphasizes Strengthening Nepal-Pakistan Relations and SAARC Cooperation

Kathmandu: Vice-President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav highlighted the significance of fostering Nepal-Pakistan relations and promoting cooperation among South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) member states.

During a meeting with Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, Vice-President Yadav underscored the need for collaborative efforts to ensure the effectiveness of SAARC in promoting peace, prosperity, and the collective well-being of member states and their people.

As the current SAARC Chair, Nepal is dedicated to resolving any impasses hindering the organization's progress, and Vice-President Yadav stressed that achieving this goal requires the full cooperation of all member states.

The Vice-President further emphasized the importance of cooperation in areas such as commerce and economics. He proposed mutual collaboration in trade, investment, tourism, cultural exchange, and people-to-people relations to strengthen ties between the two nations.

Additionally, Vice-President Yadav expressed Nepal's interest in attracting investments from Pakistan in key sectors such as hydropower, tourism, physical infrastructure, and information technology.

Addressing global warming and climate change, Vice-President Yadav raised concerns about their impact on the Hindu Kush-Himalayan (HKH) region. He called for unified efforts from all nations to mitigate these effects and protect the vulnerable region.

In conclusion, Vice-President Yadav expressed confidence in the vital role the Pakistani Ambassador would play in deepening the cooperative partnership between Nepal and Pakistan. The meeting served as a platform to strengthen bilateral ties and promote regional cooperation for the betterment of both nations and the broader SAARC community.
