17 dead, 3 Injured in Road Construction Site Crane Collapse in Maharashtra

Mumbai: A tragic incident occurred at a road construction site in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, resulting in the death of at least 17 workers and leaving three others injured. The incident took place near Shahapur in Thane district, which is approximately 71 km northeast of Mumbai, Maharashtra's capital city. Sarang V Kurve, a senior official of the NDRF, confirmed that search and rescue operations were ongoing to find any potential survivors or recover bodies. So far, the NDRF has retrieved 17 bodies from the location, and the three injured workers have been taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
