Kathmandu: The match scheduled for today between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier has been abandoned due to rain. The teams did not even get the opportunity for the toss, and both sides mutually agreed to share one point each.

As a result, UAE, the winner of Group 'A', and Nepal, the runner-up in the same group, have advanced to the semifinals. Both teams had accumulated the same number of points from their previous five matches and were declared winner and runner-up based on net run rate.

Nepal will face the winner of Group B in the semifinal on September 8. If they progress to the final and win, they will qualify to compete in the 2024 Global T20 World Cup Qualification.

In Group B, Hong Kong is currently leading the tournament with 6 points from three matches, while Thailand is in second place with 5 points. A match between Hong Kong and Thailand is scheduled for today. Nepal will face the winner of this match in the semifinal, while UAE will meet the runner-up.

Nepal has maintained an unbeaten record in the group-stage matches, defeating Malaysia by five runs, Bahrain by 10 wickets, Bhutan by three wickets, and Qatar by nine wicket
