NTC Expands Internet Service to Four Eastern Districts

Dhankuta: Nepal Telecom (NTC) has expanded its internet services to four districts in the eastern region: Dhankuta, Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha, and Bhojpur. The expansion involves the installation of optical fiber, which enables customers to access fast internet and 4G services.

Customers in these districts now have access to internet packages with speeds of up to 82,580 Mbps. According to Suman Acharya, the Senior Engineer and Chief of the NTC Dhankuta branch office, internet access has been extended to various locations, including Hile Bazaar, Mulghat, Sindhuwa Bazaar, and Bhedetar Bazaar in Dhankuta district.

Additionally, expansion in Pakhribas Municipality and Chaubise Rural Municipality in Dhankuta is expected to be completed within the current fiscal year. Internet services have also been extended to Khandbari, Tumlingtar, and Muheshanishare in Sankhuwasabha, with plans to install optical fiber in Chainpur Municipality soon.

The NTC has established internet speeds of 100 Gbps in various locations across the eastern region. In Dhankuta, approximately 8,000 households are using the internet, with 1,500 in Bhojpur, 2,000 in Sankhuwasabha, and 1,500 in Tehrathum.
