Nepalgunj: The District Administration Office in Banke has implemented an indefinite prohibitory order in Nepalgunj sub-metropolis, effective from 1:00 pm today. The decision comes in response to potential risks to public safety, disturbances of peace, and incidents of vandalism and stone-pelting.
Chief District Officer Bipin Acharya stated that the prohibitory order applies to the areas between the Rapti River Bridge in the east, the road leading to Indrapur of Khajura in the west, Ranjha chowk in the north, and Jamunaha checkpoint in the south of Banke district.
Under the order, gatherings, rallies, and restrictions on people's movement are prohibited in these areas. The local administration has warned that legal action will be taken against those violating the order.
On Monday, the District Administration Office in Banke issued a notice urging people not to engage in activities that could hurt religious sentiments or spread blame on social media. Earlier today, various organizations, including Omkar Family and Hindu Society, conducted a goodwill rally in Nepalgunj.
