Kathmandu: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has taken the decision to suspend the licenses of two senior captains, Senior Captain Santosh Shah and Captain Sanjib Shrestha, following a physical altercation that took place in the premises of Manthali Airport in Ramechhap. This incident has raised concerns about breaches of national security standards.

Jagannath Niraula, CAAN's spokesperson and deputy director general, made this announcement. The suspension of their licenses will remain in effect until further notice. However, CAAN has also noted that the final determination of their penalties will be subject to the results of a detailed investigation. Depending on the outcome, their licenses may be revoked or other legal actions might be taken against them.

The exact cause of the altercation between the two pilots from Tara Air, who belong to the same company, is not yet known. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the root of the conflict.
