Kathmandu: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has implemented a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, effective from Saturday morning, following a decision made during a meeting of the NOC Board of Directors on Friday.
The revised prices for petrol are set at Rs 164.50 per litre for depots in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. In Surkhet and Dang, the price is Rs 166 per litre, and in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal, it is Rs 167 per litre. Similarly, the prices for diesel and kerosene have been adjusted to Rs 154.50, Rs 156, and Rs 157 per litre, respectively.
According to Manoj Thakur, the spokesperson for NOC, the decision to adjust prices was based on the updated list of purchase rates received from the Indian Oil Corporations (IOC), the primary exporter of petroleum products to Nepal. The revised purchase rates have led to a reduction of Rs 3.07 and Rs 3.16 per litre in the prices of petrol and diesel, respectively.
