Kathmandu: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products, effective from 1:00 am on July 16. The price of petrol has been raised by four rupees per litre, while diesel and kerosene have each increased by three rupees per litre.
Following the price hike, the new rates are set at Rs 168.50 per litre for petrol and Rs 157.50 per litre for diesel and kerosene in regions including Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amalekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj. In Surkhet and Dang, petrol will be priced at Rs 170 per litre, with diesel and kerosene at Rs 159 per litre. In Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, and Dipayal, the price of petrol will be Rs 171 per litre, while diesel and kerosene will be Rs 160 per litre.
The decision to hike prices was made during a meeting of the NOC Board of Directors held on Monday. According to NOC, the adjustment in domestic market prices is in response to a rise in the purchase price of petrol by Rs 4.48 per litre and diesel by Rs 2.83 per litre as per the new rates received from the Indian Oil Corporation.
